What do you get when you add cool old stuff, cute kids and a camera? VERY COOL pictures!

I know this might sounds silly to some young kids out there who are embarrassed by their holey mouth and the big teeth taking their place, but I love it! I think it adds so much funny personality to the pictures. Plus that is what you looked like. It is part of life we all go through so "grin" and bare it! Or better yet enjoy it with a good smoothy or spaghetti night!

Do you see the adorable dimple on this kid. LOVE IT!

Turned out this little boy had a broken leg while he did the pictures. What a good sport to still smile and pose for me!

Who doesn't like a cool old fire engine with a fun tinting? I know I do. These kiddos were excited to photograph themselves on the fire truck.

Baby Brody

Brody is a sweet baby. He looks so much like his Mother. He was so alert for the first part of the session. Then we calmed him down, changed his bum, fed him and he was fast a sleep the rest of his newborn session.

Nathan loves Emily

Emily and Nate are a great couple. They fell in love doing service together and over ice cream. Who couldn't love a story that starts so sweet. Over two years of correspondence they realized they wanted to be together forever. Through all the red tape and stress they found out she could come to America and in a few short weeks the Wedding was planned. Big thanks to the grooms wonderful mother for helping and planning it all while trying to communicate to her future daughter-in-law in Spanish.

Nate was so smitten that it was hard to pull them away to look at me for a moment.

The ceremony was beautiful it was longer than any other ceremony I have heard being done in both Spanish and English. Regardless the spirit was so overwhelming that all who attended knew these two were meant to be together!

By the time the couple exited the temple the sun was starting to set and the evening was in full heat. They did not mind they were ready for Wedding pictures and to celebrate their love.

Emily shortened her veil after we did the bridal portraits. It was a much better length and still kept the beautiful feeling to it.

Congratulations Nathan and Emily! I am so excited for you both!!!

Emily and I do not speak the same language. She understands about as much of English as I understand of Spanish. That did not stop us from becoming very close during these Bridal pictures. She is beautiful inside and out. She glows with a beautiful personality and sweetness. I can see why her husband to be flew her from Peru to keep her forever.

She is in love with our Utah mountains and I don't blame her they are my favorite part of living on the Wasatch front. This is the longest train I have ever photographed. She and her mom sewed it by hand It was so detailed and looked lovely.

Have you been watching America's Next Top Model? I will admit it I like to watch the show while I work. I have it playing in the background. I can work through all the drama and talk, until the photo shoots. I am so fascinated watching what lighting and layouts they choose. Yeah, I know you were thinking I would be interested in the fashions (which I think are totally awesome/interesting), but for me it is all about the photography!
This last week's episode was highlighting the work of Make-up Artist turned Fashion Photographer Troy Jensen. Troy creates some amazing glamourous looks and then gets to shoot these fabulous women in his make-up artistry and in his vision. He has a very color website that is chaulk full of make-up tips and ideas for the day and night out on the town.

Later the girls were lucky enough to have Pamela Hanson photograph them in Couture. She is fantastic at Fashion Photography, but my personal favorite of her work is the Lifestyle (aka Candid) photography she captures. The images are quirky, fun and reveal personality. All things I try to capture in my own Lifestyle Photography.
I would love to spend a day in their shadows. If that happened to be when Troy is shooting Rachel McAdams or when Pamela is photographing for Vogue in Paris...that would be heaven!

-I am married to the love of my life and hero, Doug.

- I have one living son, Zac. He is a year old and a ball of energy and full of smiles. I love that his name is Zachary which is 7 letters like his Dad. His nickname Zac is 3 letters like Amy. Yeah I am weird with numbers and names that way.

- I love Dr.Pepper and will drink the Diet, Caffine Free version, but go to my happy place when it is leaded.

- I am a Disney Freak and proud of it. I liked Disney, but after working for Walt Disney World I am a Freak for Disney! I have taken the 'True Disney Fan' and 'Disney Trivia' quizes and all confirm I am a True Fan!

- I love shoes and feet. I have a size 12 foot (where that size came from? I have yet to discover on my family tree.) so I live vicariously through others. I love to photograph cute shoes and bare feet. If I could design shoes and open my own shop of shoes in my size I would.

- I love to laugh. If it is past 10pm and I am low on sleep I can laugh non-stop and I think everything is hilarious...seems to be a trait my son inherited from me.

- While You Were Sleeping, Cinderella, Pride & Prejudice (A&E) and Girls Just Want to Have Fun will always be on my watch list for a relaxing night or sick day.

- My favorite band is the Barenaked Ladies. I have met them 2x! My dream is to have a backstage pass to photograph them and to throw macaroni from stage at a concert.

- I could eat Mexican every day, and I probably do.

-My happy place is on a beach in Florida or at Walt Disney World. If ever you see me taking a deep breath and closing my eyes...give me a minute I am in my heaven.

-To every wedding I bring....a tripod, my "bag", a light stand and umbrella setup (for group shots), extension cords, business cards, water bottles and snacks.

-My bag weighs as much as a toddler and my camera's are affectionately called 'my babies'.

-My favorite camera and lens are......all of them. They all work in many different scenarios and I keep them around for back up. You never want to have a problem with a camera or lens and be out of options at a wedding!

-I have to wear pants with pockets...I lose a lens cap at every wedding. If I didn't have pockets I would never find them. I think this is the reason most camera stores sell extra lens caps.

-I wear sneakers...I read once that the great Annie Leibovitz wears sneakers when she photographs so she can move and be comfortable. I loved the idea and since then I save my feet and wear very fashionable black converse sneakers.

- I will kneel in mud for you...I do whatever it takes to get the shot you want or I envision including dangling off stairs and laying in mud. I want every image to be the one you dreamed of having!

-I never eat wedding cake at weddings.

This family was fun to photograph. I was nice that they were able to bring their dog Lady with them since the boys melted when she was in the pictures. I enjoyed the challenge of working with an animal and these two cute kids. Casey has aspergers which made it tricky at times, but he was a great sport. Both boys were excited to pick a treasure out of my treasure box at the end. When we do the whole family in the fall it will be even nicer since they both said they were excited for their next treasure. I can't wait to meet more of this great family!

We wanted an urban feel for these family pictures and this location was perfect. Knox was adorable with his big blue eyes and sweet smiles. I captured a lot of the family playing together which made it so hard to choose favorites you almost need to see the whole series to really enjoy the fun of their little family. Dad thought it would be fun to put Knox on his shoulders. Knox loved the close access allowing him to pull Dave's ears and pat his head. So funny! To see more of this cute family click here.

I was so lucky to get to take pictures of Taylor. She is going to be a wonderful mother...any day now! We took these pictures on her due date. During the session we talked about the joys and worries that come with motherhood. It is not only a new life you are bringing into this world, but you are creating a new life for yourself. I love how you could see the love and excitement on her face as we talked about her little boy.
I am excited to meet the little bundle of joy when he comes. I will get to do his newborn pictures when he is only a few days old. I love to photograph the tiniest of God's creations.

Have you ever seen so much blond hair? I loved touching his hair it was so so baby soft!
Justin was alert during his pictures. It made for some great eyes open shots.
It is a picture like this that I have the hardest time choosing between color or black and white. I love how both pictures look.

Don't you just love wrinkly little baby feet? I do! What a sweet little boy I can't wait to watch him grow!

David loves Clara

When I first spoke to Clara I knew I was going to like her! She has a infectious smile and David is so sweet you can tell he just adores her.

They were great troopers it was a chilly 40 degrees outside. For the session I drove them all over town to some of my favorite little spots. I even found a new favorite location, which is....awesome!

I wish I had her beautiful curly hair it is just gorgeous!

For this picture I played with saturation and lighting. I also added some neat vintage textures. I think it adds a new dimension to the portrait.

Mister Jaxtyn

Jaxtyn looks like his Mom with bits of his Dad, but he has his own personality.

I love his pouty little lips.

Jaxtyn has the cutest little peak in his hair, it never wants to lay down and it makes for some stinkin' adorable pictures.

Skylar and Jaxtyn are close in age and I am sure they will be even closer friends as they grow up.

Is an Emme Smile! She was so quiet until she saw Daddy. She has him wrapped around her little finger. You can tell by the sweet smiles and giggles that she is a Daddy's girl.

Michael and Patrice

It was a chilly day, but Michael and Patrice were able to stay warm as they held each other close.

They make each other laugh and smile. She is so patient and he is so sweet I am sure they will have a great marriage.

The sun came out behind the clouds for a few brief moments and we were able to warm up...just a bit.

The Ceremony and Reception took place at the Pointe at the Huntsman Center. It was all beautiful especially Kelly!
There are a few fun locations around the building that are very cool and unique to photograph.

I love the expression in this picture! Jaycey was the cutest little flower girl, however she did not want to me to take her picture. Too funny!

Kimmie gives the cutest smiles that shows off her new front teeth.

She is strong too...already working towards crawling and getting up on her hands and her knees and rocking back and forth.

Time to get baby proofing she's going to be crawling in no time!

Sister Missionary

Emily is going to serve a mission soon.

So in preparation we took some pictures.
Some probably looked less like what a typical missionary picture would, but I loved them.

I am so proud of her!

I have watched Emily and her sister grow and they get more beautiful every day!

I love these two girls like my own sisters.

I can't wait to hear all the stories from her mission!

Thirteen Candles

When Emily turned 13 what did she want...a photography session with me!

I was so excited to take these pictures!

She was such a trooper to do the them in the snow, too.

Though, the tiny falling flakes fit her personality and added the perfect touch.

Can you find the hidden Mickey?

She had little black Mickey ears on her gloves.
Emily is a Disney fan, yep a girl after my own heart.

Gotta love Disney!

We split her session and did some pictures at her dance studio.
It was neat to see her come alive even more as she moved to the music and we got some incredible shots of her in motion.

Emily and her Mom, Stephanie, were so much fun.

I can't wait to do more pictures for their family soon!

Charlene and Randy were such a fun couple to photograph. They are perfect for each other.

They found me via my favorite Bridal Shop, Gowns by Pamela. I was so happy to meet them and take their engagements (too bad I was already booked on their wedding day!)

This family was the cutest! I fell in love with Jessica and her sweetness, JJ was hilarious and Ryan gave smiles that made your heart melt.
I love this picture in both color and black and white. It was a cute candid moment between Mother and Daughter. You can tell Jessica looks up to her Mom and loves her!

I saved the pictures in the river for last. The kids enjoyed the water and had fun playing and getting all wet!

Sometimes it is hard to visualize whether a picture would look best horizontal or vertical. This is a perfect example of how a picture can look great both ways!

This family was so fun and adorable. I loved little L she was a delight to photograph with all her little smiles and faces. Her brother was very interested in what I was doing most of the time. I tried to capture the sweet moments and the love this family has. They were a great bunch!

Jolly Jensen Family

If there was one thing to say about the Jensen's it is that they know how to smile and they are good at it! Allison was really in to rocks, putting them in her pockets, climbing on them, sitting on them so she was all for leaning on one with Mommy for a picture.

She is so funny, if you try to get a smile out of her she does a half eye wink which shows her dimple in her cheek, but if you make her laugh it is golden!

Isaac has no problem smiling as long as you allow him to be standing. Once you conquer moving and standing on your own, you don't want to be told to sit and stay.
Another example of Allie's climbing skills. She loved this tree!

What a cheeser! I love his little teeth and his chubby cheeks!

If there is anyone that can make him smile it is his Daddy! He loves to laugh and play with him. So cute!

Shannon and Nate are a gorgeous couple and so much fun to photograph. Love is all around...I loved that the best smiles from Shannon came when she was laughing at Nate. I love that Nate couldn't resist kissing her when their faces came near. You can tell they really love each other and that is something that I love to capture!

One word, Wow! She is a beautiful bride. I can't wait to photograph their wedding!
